Monetary
Compensation
Eligible landowners can choose monetary compensation as provided under the applicable land acquisition framework.

GBIT is envisioned not only as a new urban centre, but as a project where affected landowners can participate in the value created by planned urbanisation.
Villages within GBIT will retain their cultural and historical essence while becoming a part of a forward-looking urban vision.
The Government has proposed multiple forms of compensation and rehabilitation support for eligible landowners and families of the region.

Eligible landowners can choose monetary compensation as provided under the applicable land acquisition framework.
Eligible landowners can choose developed residential property for every acre of land acquired, as per the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013 (RFCTLARR Act).
Compensation and eligibility are subject to the applicable provisions of the RFCTLARR Act, 2013 and the relevant acquisition and rehabilitation process.

The developed property option provides eligible landowners an opportunity to retain a stake in the value created through planned urbanisation rather than receiving only a one-time payment.
The proposed framework also includes rehabilitation and support measures for affected families, including provisions related to education, employment and skill development.
Support provisions for affected families with a focus on future opportunities.
Employment-linked opportunities as new industries and businesses emerge.
Training pathways designed to help local youth prepare for emerging sectors.
As GBIT creates new industries, businesses, services and infrastructure, the region can generate opportunities in employment (local first policy), entrepreneurship, commerce and allied sectors.
New industries and businesses can create employment opportunities for people from the region.
A growing urban ecosystem can create opportunities for local entrepreneurs and new enterprises.
New residential, commercial and industrial activity can strengthen the local economy.
The wider ecosystem can support services, logistics, retail and other allied economic activities.
A dedicated skill development centre will help young people from the region gain industry relevant skills, access training opportunities and prepare for emerging careers in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cybersecurity, Digital Marketing, Manufacturing and other sectors.

The larger vision is to ensure that communities affected by the project are not left outside the economic transformation taking place around them. The growth of GBIT must create value for the people of the region.
